Nursery is a ministry that is a help to the entire church! Newborns - 3 year olds are cared for during Sunday School and church services in order that parents and other attendees may enjoy the classes and worship in peace of mind and without distraction. Clean facilities and loving workers provide a safe and positive experience for the children in their care. Mary Anderson oversees this Ministry.
Pee Wee Club & Junior Church both provide an opportunity for growing children to learn from God’s Word in an age-appropriate setting on Sunday Mornings during the worship service. Junior Church (Kindergarten-6th Grade)are dismissed during the last hymn just before the Sunday morning message. They meet in the Fellowship Hall and their program includes singing, special music, an opportunity for the children to give in the offering, and a message from God’s Word that will challenge them to live for Jesus in their everyday lives. Pee Wee Clubbers (3 & 4 year olds, not yet in K-5 Kindergarten) are dismissed during the last hymn just before the Sunday morning message to hear the Bible presented in a way that they can understand at their young age.
King’s Kids is a Wednesday night children’s program geared toward children ages 3- 6th grade.
Barry & Thelma Schwenk oversee the attendance, records, and certificates for the Primary and Junior age children.
A time of in depth Bible study for our adults, taught by brother Carl Linderman.
Caleb’s Kin meets together on the 2nd Friday of each month. They enjoy a challenge from God’s Word and a delicious meal prepared for them by Gail Schneidau. The directors of this ministry, Rick & Nettie Brosge, plan fun, inexpensive outings for our group to enjoy and opportunities for us to fellowship and celebrate together throughout the year. You can sign up on the bulletin board each month for the regular meeting and also for the special activities.
Comfort Ye meets on the 1st Saturday of each month and is a fellowship for single, widowed, or divorced ladies. While not exclusively for seniors, this ministry was born through a desire of Mary Lou Patty, one of our charter members, for ladies that live alone to have a regular opportunity to build friendships and encourage one another. We meet at different homes each month for a meal and informal fellowship time.
The jail ministry meets on Monday nights to serve, do Bible Studies and minister to the inmates.
Ladies In Fellowship – ladies meet every other month on the first Monday at 7:00 pm. to hear a devotional, encourage our shut-ins with cards, learn a new craft, discuss a new book, or hear news from one of our missionaries. Ladies bring suggested snack items.
Ladies Night Out – ladies meet every other month at Bob Evans for fellowship, conversation, and food. Thelma Schwenk oversees this.
Secret Sisters – A ministry designed to encourage our ladies to pray for each other and encourage each other in a personal, secret, fun way. The year ends with an ornament gift party to reveal who the Secret Sisters were. Barb Williams oversees this.
The Youth Ministry at Hillcrest Baptist Church is a discipleship ministry that assists parents in the equipping of young people in grades 6-12 with a solid understanding of the fundamental principles of the Word of God and the building of ministry ties between the church to the youth and youth to the church enabling the church to be unified together in love.
We have activities that provide times of good clean fun. We meet together every Wednesday evening for a time fellowship and most importantly learning from the Word of God. We also run a program on Wednesday nights that helps hold us accountable to daily Bible reading, service in the church, and Scripture memory. We hope to see you soon!
